- Location Data: With your permission, we collect approximate location data to show nearby signals and ghosts. This is not precise GPS data.
- Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the app, including signals created, moods selected, and rooms joined.
- Device Information: We collect device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for analytics and notification purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Ghostly anonymous social experience
- To show nearby content based on your location
- To send push notifications for whispers, echoes, and soul matches
- To moderate content and prevent abuse

4. Anonymity
Ghostly is designed to be anonymous. We do not require your real name, email address, or phone number. Your ghost name is randomly generated. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely on Firebase (Google Cloud Platform). We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
6. Content Retention
Signals automatically expire after 24 hours. User accounts and data are retained until you request deletion. You may request account deletion by contacting us through the app.
7. Third-Party Services
We use Firebase services (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging) and Google Sign-In (optional). These services have their own privacy policies.
8. Children's Privacy
Ghostly is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
